Lancia Gamma — Berlina & Coupé 1976-1984

Designed to re-establish Lancia as a player in the executive car segment, the Gamma seemed to have it all to succeed, with its sophisticated engineering, elegant Pininfarina lines, and a storied brand with a long tradition of innovation and motorsport triumphs.

Yet it failed, big time, garnering a reputation for unreliability that lingers on the model to this day. Never a common sight on European roads, the Gamma has been largely forgotten, even by Lancia historians.

Not anymore though, as former automobile designer Matteo Licata has, for the first time, written this in-depth homage to the Gamma, based on rigorous research on period documents and interviews with former Lancia employees.
