With brands such as Alfa ROmeo, Bentley, BMW, Bugatti, Cadillac, Chrysler, Delage, Duesenberg, Fiat, Ford, Hudson, Maserati, Mercedes, Mercury, Packard, Reo, Sunbeam, Studebaker and Stutz, big and lesser known names competed. On often unpaved terrain and under sometimes bizarre circumstances.
